High efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters are used to filter contaminate particles out of gas streams. HEPA filters are greater than 99.97% efficient at removing particles ~0.3 µm in diameter. Their efficiency is even higher at larger and smaller sizes. Examples of applications include filtering particles upstream of gas analyzers, filtering particles upstream of sensitive devices such as flowmeters and filtering the effluent of instruments so as not to contaminate ambient or cleanroom environments. Our HEPA filters come in many sizes with convenient options to connect inline your process. The CI-794-NPT barb HEPA filter is our largest sized and most popular HEPA filter. It has a very low pressure drop and more than twice as much filtration media as the CI-323. The inlet and outlet connections are national pipe thread (“NPT”). This allows the user to connect their own fittings of different geometries and materials to the filter. For example, an elbow with a barb can be attached when space is limited. Metal or plastic fittings can be used. This filter can be used in many popular aerosol instruments as a drop in replacement.
